What's Going On...Oct. 21-28th.

Pop-star famed Britney Spears has gained the support of Southland Christian Church, located near Lexington, KY. The church's pastor John Weece has asked the congregation to send letters of love and support for Spears.

"Take a few minutes and write a note to Britney Spears," Weece said in a sermon and on a blog on the church's website. "No preaching, no criticizing, just love. As a church, let's love Britney the way Jesus loves her."

Weece said he came up with the idea after seeing reports of Britney's problems with drugs, alcohol, and the recent loss of custody of her two children.

Weece asked the Southland congregation, "If she were your next-door neighbor in the same situation without the money and success, wouldn't you care about her problems? Wouldn't you pray for her and offer her support and encouragement?"

Cindy Willison, the church's director of communications was still collecting the letters on Friday and looking for the best way to get them to Spears. For more on that story visit

T.I. (nee Cliford Harris) was released on $3 million dollar bond Friday Oct. 26. Harris must remain in home confinement, at a home in Henry County, Atlanta until he awaits trial for the weapons charges.

Harris was ordered to home confinement by US Magistrate judge Alan Baverman who also told the rapper that he is not to leave home, unless its for a medical appointment, court appearances and any other important circumstance. Harris cannot own any firearms, have contact with any one involved in the case, or do anything to undermine his team of professional lawyers.

Harris is being monitored 24-hours a day by a home monitoring service that he is paying for.

Rapper Foxy Brown is back with a new single called "Lights Go Out," featuring an up and coming singer named Kiara. Dispite Brown's legal troubles, she is still recording and will hopefully release a new album late this year or early next year. Check out the song here on you tube with some pictures and clips of Brown's earlier videos.

Rappers LL Cool J and Jay-Z both denied that they have any problem with each other. LL recently spoke to MTV saying, "I don't need to go all out," LL said. "At this point the focus should be to make great music, trying to keep it positive, trying to have some sort of relationship where we can work together. Hopefull [Def Jam] can do well and look great, I can do well and look great. We can part company as civilized businessmen and give the world something great."

The alleged beef came about when Jay-Z did a verse for 50 Cent's remix to the hit single "I Get Money." Jay-Z said, "I'm already the G.O.A.T., next stop is the billy," in a verse on the remix.

LL retorted back on BLOK TV saying, "I don't even know why you did that to yourself. Instead of doing that verse, you should've been doing your job."

Jay-Z claims, "He's a legend," Jay said. "I'm not doing that. That type of shit comes back to you...I believe in karma. He's upset, not me. If he wanna work it out, I'm more than willing to do that."

Check back for more, coming soon...

Michael Jackson was ordered to pay $175,000 to law firm Ayscough & Marar in Los Angeles recently. Superior Court Judge James Chalfant ordered Jackson to pay the $175 thousand totaling the bill to more than $430,000 for Jackson's 2005 child molestation trial, where he was accused of child molestation.

The law firm sued Jackson claiming that he did not pay for its work which prevented the release of some information to the public and lawyers in civil cases during Jackson's criminal trial, according to the AP.

The firm asked for nearly $430,000 because they had to hire a lawyer to sue Jackson.

Jackson's lawyer Thomas Mundell said, "We're very pleased with today's outcome," but he did not confirm whether or not Jackson would pay Ayscough & Marar law firm.

What in the world is going on?

Rapper T.I. was arrested for federal gun charges just moments before he was to perform at the BET Hip-Hop awards, according to federal authorities.

T.I., 27, born Clifford Harris was caught in a federal sting Saturday when authorities say Harris asked his bodyguard to purchase weapons after giving his bodyguard $12,000. Harris cannot buy weapons because he is convicted felon. According to CNN, Court documents said Harris was convicted on felony drug charges in 1998, and a federal affidavit said he has been arrested on gun charges in the past.

On Sunday, Dwight Thomas, one of T.I.'s attorney's said that he was not aware Harris was a convicted felon and that "a number of people" live in Harris' suburban Atlanta home. Thomas also said that he is confident that the legal system will work in Harris' favor.

And now for someone who is actually doing well...VANESSA WILLIAMS! Vanessa Williams is on a hit television show called "Ugly Betty" on ABC and Proactiv is giving her a $20 million dollar endorsement deal. According to the NY Post, the deal is similar to Jessica Simpson's, but Williams may be getting much more, according a source.

What's Going On, Oct. 8-14

Britney to release new album titled "Black Out"

First off, who told Britney Spears that she could stop being a good-girl pop singer and start being Madonna? Has anyone seen her new video "Gimme More?" Check it out on You Tube, if you haven't already seen it! It's trashy, but I'm sure the guys will love it. Miss Spears is pole dancing throughout the video in a black leather outfit with her butt checks out in lace tights. Hmmm...I wonder what K-Fed has to say about this one. Who knows? He's pretty busy playing daddy these days, since Spears recently lost custody of her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. Something tells me that K-Fed is going to go back to his ex Shar Jackson.

Visit YOU TUBE and type in Gimme More and you will see a picture of Britney on a pole in front of a dark purple and blue back ground. You can also visit YAHOO to watch the video. You Tube will not let me copy and paste the link. They've disabled it!

The cutest NBA couple call it quits

Basketball giant Shaquille O'Neal has filed for divorce against wife Shaunie Nelson O'Neal. Rumors are speculating that Shaunie may have cheated on Shaq for her Cuban trainer and that she used some of the $20 million per year that Shaq makes to buy another man a house. Again these are just rumors, but the divorce filing is accurate, according to Hip Hop Weekly.Com. It is also rumored that during Shaunie and Shaq's marriage, he slept with other women often paying them at least $1 million dollars in hush money to keep it from his wife.

Foxy Brown reported about a month ago that she was pregnant per her lawyer Sen. John Sampson. Brown is currenly incarcerated in the Rose M. Singer facility of Riker's Island in New York. Brown was sentenced to one year in prison for violating her probation, following an alleged altercation with a Brooklyn woman. Hip Hop Weekly did not confirm whether or not Brown was being held in the pregnancy unit of Riker's Island. According to Black Hand Entertainment CEO Chazz Williams, "She's [Foxy's] not pregnant. That's just something that her lawyer said." Well whatever Sampson said, it didn't move Judge Melissa Jackson, who sentenced Brown to one-year at Riker's at the September 7th hearing in New York.

Until next week folks...Any suggestions? E-mail

PS. I know I've been gone for a few weeks or should I say a few blogs, but I'm back! I'm better than ever! I had a lot to say!

What's Going On...Sept 10...VMA Style

The 2007 MTV Video Music Awards had no host for the first time ever and last night some of the most entertaining things took place. Were you at home watching?

The VMAs aired last night on MTV in Las Vegas at 6 p.m. (Pacific Time). There were several celebrities present including Diddy, Alicia Keys, T.I., Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Jay-Z, super-producer Timberland, and Britney Spears. The list goes on.

The talk of the night and forever more will be Britney Spears' opening performance for her new single "Gimme More," featuring a sample from T.I.'s song, "Bring 'Em Out." Spears appeared to be unsure of herself, tired, and relaxed as if she was not making a come back to the pop scene. She lip-synced the entire song and did mediocre dance routines that made you wonder if she was the same Britney who danced her heart out on the VMA stage once before with a python around her neck. The crowd watched anxiously waiting for more, but Britney gave them less than what they were used to. Just watch the audience's reaction, especially 50 Cent's who seemed to look confused. Diddy did not look pleased at all in the audience.

Even though most would expect a thriller of a performance, from Spears, at least Chris Brown did an excellent job with his performance of his hit "Wall to Wall," including snippets of his new single with T-Pain and a Micheal Jackson themed breakdown dance. Brown danced and sang the entire time. When he was finished, he received handshakes from Nelly and those sitting at Nelly's table that Brown finished his routine on.

The entire night was filled with hotel parties in Palms Casino Resort. Kanye West performed most of the night with a crowded room dancing to his music. One of the highlights of the evening was when MTV showed West and T-Pain performing his new single titled "Good Life." People were outside dancing on the see through balcony with West and T-Pain.

Did anyone notice that while Beyonce received an award for her and Shakira's single "Beautiful Liar," she kissed West and not 50 Cent, who came on the stage together? 50 looked at the camera and raised an eyebrow and Beyonce walked by to receive her award.

Word of Kid Rock and Tommy Lee, Pam Anderson's former husband, fist fighting backstage hit the stage once Jamie Foxx announced it as he was presenting an award with Jennifer Garner. No word on any injuries yet or who won.

To see clips of what happen between the two rockers visit:

Producer Timberland did a great job of MCing and DJing on his beat maker as he brought out Nelly Fertado, Justin Timberlake, and Keri Hilson.

Missed everything? Don't worry MTV said they will air it again, but it will be different because it will not be exactly the same they say. It will be remixed. Stay tuned.

What's Going On...Sept.10-Sept.16

This just in...Breaking Entertainment News! New Blog for September 10, 2007!

Sorry about no news on Monday, but it was Labor Day and I had to eat two hamburgers and some Lays chips!

Foxy Brown (nee Inga Marchand) has been sentenced to prison in New York to serve a term of one year for violating her probation. She was on probation for assault charges. It has not been determined where Brown will serve her time in jail.Brown is three months pregnant.

The rapper has yet to release the fan anticipated album Black Roses. No word yet whether or not the project is still going forward, since she has been given jail time.

Attention all 50 Cent and Kanye West fans! The beef may be a gimmick! Think about it. Kanye West has always been arrogant, so is it really like him to turn down a challenge to sell the most records during the first week of his albums release. He feels as though everything he says is relevant and believes 50 raps about things that are not conscious. There's advertising on BET for both of their release dates, magazines, radio shows, everybody is promoting this event? Now if Kanye was really beefing with 50...would this be so heavily publicized? Not unless it got out of control like Jay-Z and Nas or Biggie and Tupac! In West's new song, featuring T-Pain titled "Good Life," West says, "50 told me go 'head and switch the style up, And if they hate then let 'em hate, And watch the money pile up, the good life." Hmmm....

First comes love, then comes marriage, next comes the girl with the baby carriage...Well, actually first comes love, then comes baby, marriage is somewhere up in the air for Halle Berry! Halle Berry, 41, is pregnant by Gabriel Aubry, 31-year-old model, and her boyfriend of two years!

"Yes I am three months pregnant," Berry told Access Hollywood. "Gabriel and I are beyond excited and I've waited a long time for this moment in my life. Now the next seven months will be the longest of my life!"

Berry has made it public that she has always wanted to start a family. In April, she told Access Hollywood that she had reached a point where she was "really, really, ready to procreate."

Berry has been married and divorced twice. Her marriage to baseball player David Justice ended in 1996. Her divorce to R&B singer Eric Benet was finalized in January 2005.

50 Cent has some explaining to do...A woman with her butt cheeks out and her body aruond 50 looks all too much like R&B sensation Ciara! There are more close up pictures of the woman touching 50 and she seems to really like him whoever she is. I will post the pictures, so that you can see for yourself! Ciara's camp claims that this is a model who looks like Ciara and that Ciara did take some pictures with 50, and that she is outraged that he would put them inside of his album cover to resemble her. Hmmm...

On another note, has anyone seen the new Jennifer Lopez video? It's terrible! Watch it here! The concept is that J.Lo is supposed to be some bad-ass well-dressed investigator who comes up in the club busting people in the head, neck, kicking them...etc. She comes in the club to rescue a little boy who is alone in the club. This isn't just any club! It has a sex slave theme! J.Lo to the rescue!

Whether you decide to go with Curtis or to Graduation, Sept. 11, will be the album release date for both 50 Cent and Kanye West. According to 50 Cent, he will stop releasing solo albums if Kanye West sells more albums within the first week. (Check out for more on that story.) Curtis will feature hits like "Amusement Park," "I Get Money," and "Ayo Technology, (featuring Justin Timberlake)." Graduation will feature hits like "Can't Tell Me Nothing," "Stronger," and "Barry Bonds." If West wins, then people will continue to praise 50's music or get sick of it, but if 50 keeps his word, then like the West titled single "Barry Bonds," West will hit a home run and 50 will be out of the ball park for good. If 50 wins, then his solo career will continue to get him money in the bank, and more of an excuse to keep his signature nonchalant face with his self proclaimed motto "I Run New York."

Rikers Island is the new hot spot for rapper Foxy Brown who was recently placed in prison by a New York judge for violating her probation that she got after attacking her neighbor with a cellular device. Foxy Brown was also in trouble before that for attacking workers in a NYC nail salon. Brown announced that she was pregnant and engaged to her fiance' (for more see or No word yet on who the lucky or maybe unlucky guy is. Brown has been recording tracks for her yet to be released fourth solo album rumored to be title "Black Roses." According to Media, Foxy is receiving special treatment at Rikers Island. Hmmm...

One, two, X they're coming for you...the police that is. Sheriff's deputies raided the home of rapper Earl Simmons (better known as DMX) home in Arizona after receiving a tip about his pit bulls being left alone in inhumane conditions.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office received a tip more than a week ago about dogs being kept in inhumane conditions at the Phoenix-area home, said Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

The 36-year-old rapper was not home while the deputies raided his home. Simmons has not been at home for about two months and according to his lawyer Murray Richman was "extremely disturbed" to find out that the dogs were not being taken care of correctly.

"We had a caretaker that wasn't taking care, that's what happened," Richman said. "He loves dogs — he loves these animals. Those dogs are practically his family."

The deputies also found firearms. They sought out for warrants to check the guns to see if they are legal.

Stay tuned for more What's Going On each and every Monday!

American Idol Has Gone Downhill

American Idol sucks. I used to watch it, but I don't anymore. I liked last season, when the guy who really knew how to sing won. I forgot his name, but he had soul. His fans were called the "Soul Patrol." This season is corny and the only name I know is Saraja or whatever his name is. I think that he's going to win it all because of his big hair, not his voice. American Idol is rigged. It has to be. I can't prove it, but I'm sure someone can. Simon would have gotten rid of Saraja when he first hit the stage, if the show wasn't rigged. I don't watch T.V. much anymore, but I like watching The Hills and Undressed on MTV. College Hill is a good show too.

Valentine's Day History

Valentine's Day History

* St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition.

*One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

* Valentine's Day is not a pagan holiday. There was a popular festival called Lupercalia, which was a pagan festival. Valentine's Day was an effort to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine's death.

* Lupercalia which began at the ides of February, February 15, was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus. To begin the festival, members of the Luperci, an order of Roman priests, would gather at the sacred cave where the infants Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome, were believed to have been cared for by a she-wolf or lupa. The priests would then sacrifice a goat, for fertility, and a dog, for purification.

* Valentine's Day is not pagan, Lupercalia is.

* The oldest Valentine card is on display at a British Museum.

* In the 1840s, Ester A. Howland began to sell mass-produced Valentines in the U.S.

*Rome's bachelors would then each choose a name out of the urn and become paired for the year with his chosen woman. These matches often ended in marriage. Pope Gelasius declared February 14 St. Valentine's Day around 498 A.D. The Roman 'lottery' system for romantic pairing was deemed un-Christian and outlawed. Later, during the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that February 14 was the beginning of birds' mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of February -- Valentine's Day -- should be a day for romance.

Today I read that first-year law associates who work for Latham & Watkins and Gibson Dunn in New York salaries were raised to $160,000, but in California and other places, the salaries were raised to $145,000. Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, Heller Ehrman and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker also announced the same pay increase; however, Orrick will also raise Washington, D.C., first-year associates to $160,000.
As a college student, I can not yet imagine making $160,000 per year, let alone $45,000 per year. I think that new York and California should make the same amount of money because in both areas, the cost of living is too high. Some day I'll make big money like that, some day.
Do you know want to know how all of this began?
The salary changes began in late January, when New York firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett increased first-year associates' base pay to $160,000, according to Before then, most California-based big firms were paying fourth-years $175,000 and seventh-years $215,000. The new California scale puts fourth-years at $190,000 and seventh-years at $240,000. In New York, the new scale has fourth-years at $210,000 and seventh-years at $265,000.

What's Going On (Jan. 29)

Hiking could be deadly. Last week a 70-year-old North California hiker was mauled by a mountain lion at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park in California.

Jim Hamm, 70, of Fortuna California, was attacked by a female mountain lion while he and his wife, Nell were hiking at the park, according to The mountain lion jumped on him, scalped him, mauled his face, scratched and wounded him.

Nell Hamm, 65, said she grabbed a four-inch-wide log and beat the animal with it, but it would not release its hold on her husband's head. She also said they are experienced hikers and had not seen a mountain lion before Jim was mauled.

Monday morning Jim was listed in critical condition, according to NBC affiliate KNTV. Over the weekend, Jim's condition worsened. Saturday night, Hamm was taken to Mad River Community Hospital in Arcata for emergency surgery, where doctors said his condition went from fair to serious. He was taken to intensive care on Sunday. A spokesman at the hospital said relatives requested that more details of Hamm's condition not be released.

Mountain Lions and hiking are dangerous. I'm not sure which is more dangerous hiking with mountain lions or going over to Iraq to fight a never ending war.

In Baghdad, Iraq, Iraqi officials say 200 militants were killed, including a cult's religious leader near Najaf. Iraqi officials said that U.S.-backed Iraqi troops targeted the armed religious cult called "Soldier's of Heaven."

Mohammed al-Askari, the defense ministry spokesman, and an Iraqi military commander in charge of the Najaf area said 200 terrorists were killed and 60 wounded. Maj. Gen. Othman al-Ghanemi, the commander, said there were 150 prisoners and al-Askari said 120 people were taken captive.

Will there ever be peace in Iraq? I hope so. I don't think the United States is the great force that it would like to think that can keep peace among the Iraqi people. I think trust, effective communication, and cooperation is needed. I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

Mechanical errors were ruled out as a contributing factor to the fatal freeway crash last month involving R&B singer and actress Brandy Norwood. Police say that Brandy hit a car in traveling in front of hers, which caused the crash. Investigators are trying to figure out exactly what caused Brandy to hit the vehicle of Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, a married mother of one, was killed after Brandy's Land Rover struck her from behind. The singer was not hurt in the car crash.

Aboudihaj's car was forced into another car in front of hers before swerving into the freeway's center divider. She was hit by a fourth automobile. Investigators are trying to figure out what caused Aboudihaj's vehicle to go across four lanes of traffic, according to California Highway Patrol Spokesman Leland Tang.

It is not known whether Brandy will be found at fault or criminally negligent in the Dec. 30 accident, according to investigators.
